While the push has been to become selfless with the diminishing of ego, by the avoidance of attachments, and by limiting false projections that often result from negative narratives and meaning-making, our desire should be to become self-full. The difference is in consciousness – the awareness one has toward the best self and the understanding of that self’s related connectedness to all other beings and matter. In this, there is the need to find balance in the realization that ego, maintaining attachments, and some meaning-making are at times quite necessary.
