I know the universe is alive
because I live.
I know the universe is kind
because I smile at the stranger.
I know that the universe is capable of love
because I am able to love.
I know the universe has imperfections
because I am imperfect.
I know the universe has inconsistencies
because I am inconsistent.
I know that the universe is changing
because everything changes.
I know that the universe is…
simply because I am!
For the universe cannot exist without me.
It cannot know itself
without my eyes beholding its beauty and wonder.
It cannot dream of tomorrow
without my memories of yesterday and forever.
It cannot sense and feel without my emotion and my tears
I know that the universe is alive
because I live!
I am a proud, passionate liberal thinker, social-justice advocate, entrepreneur, creative thinker, and songwriter whose mission in life is to try be the change that I hope someday would be in the world. I am also a husband, father and community minister. I hold an undergraduate degree in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and a Master of Divinity degree. Currently, I am serving as the Managing Director of Clergy 211, an organization of inclusive and progressive clergy that provide non-judgmental rite-of passage ceremonies for all people from all walks of life.
